塑膠射出材料相對於金屬材料脆弱,需要與其他元素複合,才能有效提高塑膠製品強度。

在塑膠料中添加纖維,即複合元素的一種。纖維分為玻璃纖維與碳纖維材質,又以長度區分為長纖、短纖。

目前市售的長纖塑膠外觀約直徑3mm長11mm。纖維長度增加,合適纖維材質再與塑膠複合才能有效增加機械強度。一般而言長纖應用,材質建議使用碳纖維。

當纖維比例增加到35%後,機械強度隨比例增加,強度提升明顯趨緩,比重也會按纖維比例增加。(POM最高增加比例為25%)

纖維配向,也是強度提升的重要因素。配向正確,可達到最佳化改善。

Fiber orientation is also an important factor for strength improvement.
